Our Signal Processing Units are the ultimate tool for converting video signals from the automotive world to standard PC video signals. They feature powerful processors and firmware as well as numerous interfaces that enable a wide range of applications. The primary application is the conversion and output of automotive video signals on an HDMI monitor as well as the provision and forwarding of video data via Ethernet.

Our Signal Processing Units are also ideal for testing and validating cameras, head units and ECUs (Electronic Control Units).

TZ Signal Processing Units are available as standard for the common GMSL and FPD-LINK technology standard as well as with various connectors such as FAKRA or Rosenberger HFM. We will be pleased to realize other technologies and connectors individually for you on request.

Our devices can also be pre-configured to meet specific application requirements. Up to 100 different configurations can be stored in the device so that you can immediately work with the optimum settings – for fast and uncomplicated commissioning that saves you time and enables a seamless start.

Functions

Our Signal Processing Units provide a powerful way of converting video from any source used in the vehicle to standard video formats and make it available via HDMI and Ethernet. At the same time, they have many practical additional functions and numerous connection options for further test tools.

RAW Conversion

The de-bayering (demosaicing) of the RAW image data into an RGB image is carried out directly in the Signal Processing Unit. Other color spaces can also be configured on request to meet the specific requirements of the application.

Scaling and Warping

The powerful processor and GPU enable upscaling and downscaling of the automotive video links to all common video resolutions. Specific adaptations such as image warping, for example for head-up displays, can also be integrated if required.

Video Data Streaming

Video data can be streamed to the network or cloud in compressed form via the Ethernet interface, making it accessible worldwide – ideal for remote testing. The micro USB interface, on the other hand, enables direct connection to a PC for fast, uncomplicated data transfer and local access to the video data.

Raw data acquisition

The SPU can be used to capture raw data as snapshots or image sequences, which can be saved in PNG format for simple image display or as a binary file for further analysis. This function enables flexible and efficient processing of image data, depending on the requirements of your application. Capture and storage can be done either via the TZ.SPU app or conveniently via SFTP access for easy data transfer and management.

Power over Coax

Cameras connected directly to the Signal Processing Unit can be conveniently powered via the coaxial cable, providing a simple and efficient power supply solution.

Settings Selector

A rotary switch makes it easy to switch between different configurations that are specially adapted to different components. Up to 100 customer-specific settings can be stored in the device and updated or replaced with new ones as required. This flexibility allows quick adaptation to changing requirements and makes the device particularly versatile.

Remote Control

Settings can also be controlled remotely via the USB interface, which is particularly useful for automated end-of-line tests with different components. For example, the video output and scaling can be flexibly adjusted, switched between HDMI and Ethernet output and the video resolution for the Ethernet stream can be configured. Precise color matching is also possible via remote control.

Control Channel Master

The integrated USB Control Channel Master enables convenient reading and setting of register entries directly during operation. This eliminates the need for additional tools, which considerably simplifies the workflow and allows settings to be adjusted quickly in real time.

Camera Initialization

The Signal Processing Unit (SPU) can directly store the complete initialization of the camera, including serializer and imager, for a specific setting. This enables the camera to be used quickly and smoothly, even if it does not have an integrated signal processor (ISP).

Color Spaces

Our Signal Processing Units (SPUs) offer outstanding flexibility and can process all common color spaces. Regardless of whether the connected camera works in RGB, RAW10 or RAW12 format, our SPUs ensure seamless processing and conversion of the image data.

TZ SPU App

The TZ SPU app offers a user-friendly interface for configuring and controlling the Signal Processing Unit (SPU). It enables the adjustment of specific parameters, the configuration of imager, serializer and deserializer as well as access to raw data. The application not only enables the display of a live video stream with real-time transmission via RTSP, but also provides a visual display of a live histogram for analyzing image data. In addition, control commands can be individually edited and snapshots and image sequences can be created from raw or processed data.

TZ GUI Software

For all our current products, we offer you the TZ GUI, a powerful and user-friendly software that allows you to configure new components and test tasks quickly and easily. We create and store the ideal settings for your device so that you can start working straight away without having to make any additional adjustments.

Status LEDs

Status LEDs for the most important functions indicate the respective operating status and allow quick identification of possible error sources.

Extensive Interfaces

Additional external sockets can be used to connect further tools and test devices, e.g. to read out the configuration of the imager via the I2C interface.
